Powering Precision: Regency Electric’s Role in Mayo Clinic’s Cutting-Edge Cancer Center

When world-class medical innovation meets world-class construction, every detail matters. Regency Electric (RE), A Norlee Company, was proud to play a vital role in the electrical infrastructure of the new Mayo Clinic Integrated Oncology Building in Jacksonville, Florida—home to one of the most advanced cancer treatment centers in the nation.

This groundbreaking facility featuring the first Carbon Ion Proton Therapy system in North America, required not only innovative medical technology, but also an incredibly sophisticated electrical backbone to support it. RE was honored to deliver just that.

A comprehensive scope delivered with the highest quality standards.

Our team executed a full-scale electrical installation across the entire facility, including:
• Electrical Power and Lighting
• Medium Voltage Service Entrance and Site Distribution
• Fire Alarm and Security Systems
• CCTV and Structured Cabling (in partnership with Tietjen Technologies, Inc.)
• Paging and Patient Audio Systems
• Lightning Protection System
• Treatment Room Safety Systems

This wasn’t just another project to the team. It was a precision effort on a mission to support life-saving care. RE’s scope of work extended into the most sensitive and highly specialized areas of the facility, including:
• 2 Proton Therapy Rooms
• 1 Carbon Proton Therapy Room
• 7 MRI Rooms
• 3 CT Suites
• 2 Linear Accelerator Rooms

Each of these spaces demanded intense attention to detail, strict code compliance, and expert coordination with Mayo’s construction, medical equipment, and clinical teams. These aren’t just treatment rooms—they are highly calibrated environments where advanced care and electrical excellence intersect.

Some interesting facts about this project, RE delivered:
• 70 miles of conduit
• 188 miles of wire
• 1.5 miles of cable tray
• Over 3,100 light fixtures installed

These numbers reflect more than volume. They reflect trust, craftsmanship, and our team's capacity to meet the needs of one of the most respected healthcare institutions in the world.

This facility positions Jacksonville at the forefront of oncology innovation, bringing hope and healing to patients from across the globe. And behind every illuminated corridor, every powered machine, and every life-saving treatment, there’s a team of skilled professionals at Regency Electric who made it all possible.

We're proud to have contributed to a project that changes lives.
